Michael liked his music LOUD. When he wanted it turned up to ear-splitting levels, he’d say “Hurt me, Brad, hurt me!” Back in 1982, when Bruce Swedien and Matt Forger were working on “Beat It”, they were listening to Eddie Van Halen’s guitar solo at “Michael-level”  when of the woofers in the amazing Westlake HR-1 loudspeakers overheated to the point of catching fire. The techs had to put the fire out and replace the speaker so Bruce could get back to work.
